salon lease agreement

I signed a contract to lease a station for 6 months in a salon. The contract is very generic and titled sublease at the top. I am listed as the tenant and she is listed as the landlord, there is no subtenant listed so it is very hard to understand the legal jargon listed in terms of sublease. I agreed to lease from May until Nov., but I want out. I have already asked and the owner says no. There are some things I was promised verbally before I signed that are not going to happen but were not written in the contract. I have already paid her first and last. Can I get out of this?

Hi: Review your lease and see if it has any terms that may support you and in any case ask the landlord to work something out--many will do something for you in medical situations or other emergencies...if there are any problems you could try to point those out as reasons for leaving as well; finally most landlords actually will not sue for the amounts owing after a broken lease, though they may try to report it to your credit agency; you are only liable until they re-rent it in any case so if you can find someone to take it, that may also help.
