Default Ecowater problem: I only get paid if I meet certain amount of appointments

Hi I work with Ecowater and I am having a few problems with them. Whenever I was in orientation I asked if we would have to go door to door or if we would be given appointments. I was told we would come in the morning and they would give us an appointment and then we go out and do it, then we would call them when we were done and they would send us to another appointment. The reason this is important is because I only get paid if I meet certain amount of appointments or sales. I didn't want to work here if we did have to go door to door and I was told no we wouldn't be doing that. When I got there one morning, I was told I have to go out and go door to door and get water samples so that they could set appointments for us and I won't be able to meet those appointments if I am having to go door to door. I can't and don't want to quit because it is so hard to find a job. What can I do?

You either have to accept that and do it--or quit.

It is not illegal for them to ask that.

Unless you have a specific contract, they can change the job a bit from time to time.
