Is it legal for a car dealership to have you sign a contract at 8% interest rate, the accepted down payment and what your payment will be and then call you back in and say they couldn\'t get that rate it is now 16% and your payment is $571 instead of $510, and we need $1200 more on the down payment?

Depending on what you signed you may fight it--and sue in small claims (even if the contract says otherwise)--you could argue they said it was a completed deal and you relied on it. Otherwise they must give you every dollar back and let you go to another dealer--
You may also report them to your state attorney general's office. |
