gym contract extra year

gym contract extra year
When signing a contract for the gym it was dated as November 2010 being the expirey date. After speaking to the manager she told me they do not sell memberships for two years. This is something that is new to me and is not writen any where on my reciept. The gym will not grant me the extra year that is clearly on my reciept. What would be the next step i would take to solve this situation?
