Physician who is owed money

I am a physician anesthesiologist who was working at a surgical center. The surgical center owners(surgeons) contracted out the anesthesia services to a company, company A. Company B ( a locum tenens firm who provides physicians) has a contract with company A. I contract with company B to provide services.. COmplicated huh?? Company B is referred as a locum tenens agency. Company A is just a anesthesia company providing anesthesia services. I was working there for about 10 months. My payment was always delayed, because i wouldnt get paid until company a paid company b. So its been 6 months since i left the centre and am still owed like 20K. I called company b (who i have a contract with) and they stated they couldnt pay me until company A pays us. SO i figured what the hell... let me call company A. So a series of phone calls to company a to no avail. Finally the contoller tells me listen we are in financial difficulty i dont know when were gonna be able to pay you. Finally i hear they wanna make a payment plan.. Meanwhile, I call the surgical centre directly and talk to the practice manager and tell him hey listen payments to me are in arrears i dont know if you know whats going on. I hear company A is in financial distress and they arent telliing me when they are going to pay me etc etc. I tell him im gonna call the surgeons (my friends) directly and let them know whats going on. I further tell him I dont want this to go further (meaning lawsuit) and stuff. SO this guy calls company a and i guess tells them i called which is what i wanted because payments are starting to come in. So i get a letter from company a lawyer telling me that i approached a physicain practice to try to defame the company A and its owner by making false statements regarding comapny A . It continues and says it was done with the intent to extort payments from company A to company B so that payments could be made to me. It says such activities constitute actionanle tortious interference with contractural relations, interference with economic advantage and actionable defamation and trade libel. It says if conduct results in any damage to business of company a they will seek injuctive relief and compensatory and punitive damaages against me. please conduct yourself accordingly. is this bogus or what?



does anyone have any thoughts???? on how i should proceed.

You are free to describe what actually happened to anybody and to try to collect your fees.

You may file in regular or small claims court and pursue it.

Or have attorneys intervene firstly as well if you prefer.

I am sure world law direct could have lawyers contact the company if you need that.

what does all that mumbo jumbo that that lawyer wrote me?

is he trying to scare me? DId i really do something unlawful?
