what are my rights to signing as witness if someone else signed the client

I would like to know what can I do in the case of a sales person signed up a vehicle finance contract with my customer while I was busy signing other clients. Basically he asked if he could help in the meantime, I thinking that he was only keeping the client busy... to find out after my last customer signed with me that he had already signed the vehicle finance contract when he is not fica compliant... without me witnessing it... but I signed as witness although I did not witness the client signing.... also before that I had see the client in the day when he had brought through his original ID, Tempory drivers and proof of income.... apparently the drivers and payslip where fraudulant... and the bank says that I should have picked it up.. I did check it before making copies of the documents but with it being busy I did not pick it up... I sent it to the bank to do validations and they also did not pick it up.... now I have been suspended on the basis that I sighned as witness why did I do that? when I did not see the client signing... Is there anything I can do in this situation....
