Equipment rental

I have rented scissor lift for a weekend job and the rental company was supposed to deliver and pick up the equipment. They did deliver it but they still haven't picked it up. At first we called them to come and get it and every day they said they will pick it up the next day but nothing happened. They didn't call, didn't pick it up and are not responding to us in any way anymore. I have e-mailed them and told them that if they don't pick up their equipment by certain date we will have no choice but to consider it abandoned and again, nothing happened. It still sits here and nobody cares to pick it up.
What are my options? Can I actually consider this equipment as abandoned and maybe give it to somebody? If I do that they would probably charge my credit card for the cost of a replacement. Or maybe their insurance. Maybe they really don't want to pick it up for a reason. Or how do I make them to come and pick it up and do it in such a way that they will have to do it and stop playing with me? Please, help me!

Give them written notice and inform the police; have it removed if you wish or towed after a week or so...
