workplace its so dark that i am having a bad migraine

In my workplace its so dark that i am having really bad migraine and may need to wear glasses. I am in the front desk and i had to buy a lamp to put on my desk to be able to see what i am typing... what can i do.. My boss say that they are going to make some change regarding the lighting but it has been more then a year and nothing has been done..

It is not illegal to have bad lighting but you certainly can bring your own supplementary lighting.

If it is so bad you cannot work, that could be reason to quit and take unemployment but the employer is sure to try to challenge that. And you would have to show it was terrible and no normal person could have worked like that.

I just went through this exact issue.

Buy a lamp??
