I bought a new car. The dealer cashed my check for TT&L and sent me a copy of the contract in the mail. I was told upon delivery the financial deal was done. The dealer told me not to worry about the financing it was done and it was his job to shove it down the financing company's throat. I explained during my credit check my husband had died and I live with my mother. The only bill I pay is half the light bill. I left my post office box the same when I moved in with my mother five years ago. Now the dealership is requesting I return the car due to the fact there are no bills in my name coming to my mothers address. I told the finance company I would supply them with a letter from the appraisal district, my bank or from the sheriffs department proving where I live. They are telling me that is not acceptable to the finance company. Now they want me to sign with another finance company at a higher rate or return they car. Is this legal.

If it is complete then you need not change it. Ask them on what grounds the contract is not valid.

If there are clauses in the contract that let them do this, they need to refund you and cover all costs and let you go to another dealer.
