My daughter was on drugs in 2000 and signed a POA for the temporary care of her 2 month old to a man that she worked for in a prostitution house. She did it as he and his wife would baby sit while our daughter worked at his place. She went to prison 5 months later and the man and his wife kept the baby for her. She got out demanded her child back he refused. Don't know exactly why she never pressed it. One thing man has moved constantly with child. Man has kept child under POA since 2001, moved to Illinois last year, we found our granddaughter after 7 years got a Court Order and have her now. We are in a battle with this man as he claims Illinois as his and hers home state under UCCJEA. So NC has case on stay pending what IL decides as to jurisdiction. She thought what she signed was temporary and for 1 year, was marked indefinite though. She never gave him the OK to remove child from NC. How is the best way to invalidate the POA he had, so he could not claim IL as home state as he would not have a right to carry her there. POA was revoked on 3/4/08. I need to know how to prove it was invalid before 1/1/08.

I would get the police involved. He has questionable rights and ask the court to do an emergency temp order if not done already.
