Songwriting/Publishing Music PARTNERSHIP CONTRACT

Hi. I am from CA and I would like to find out if a general partnership contract between songwriters/music publishers is legit if one partner owes the other a lot of money and agrees to have the other partner decide a fair distribution of royalties/revenue.

Well,if as partners you entered into a publishing contract,the royalties will be split equally between you and your partner.You should be able to recoup owed money from your partner yourself.I doubt if the publisher would change the percentage payable to you both, but it may be possible.Approach the publisher.

Thanks for responding. What I would like to find out is if this contract between me and my partner is legitimate and can be enforced legally. It states that since one partner owes the other money (and although not stated, often does not do their fair share of the work); therefore the other partner gets to decide what their fair share would be as a result of how much effort they put it.
