Rental business property - breech of contract lawsuit
I recently closed my retail business for financial reasons (specifically no money to continue business or pay personal bills) and as a result had to break the lease on the storefront I rented. My landlord is now suing me for breech of contract. I am also in the process of trying to obtain pro-bono services from an attorney so I can file for bankruptcy. I would like to get (legal?) advice as to what to do about the breech of contract lawsuit being brought against me and what will likely happen as a result, especially if I have no money.

If they cannot collect then any judgment will be worth less for them.
And if you declare bankruptcy the debt will be canceled. That may cause them to negotiate with you if they think they will get nothing. |
