Default California Law concerning being offered employment

I was offered employed by a company(we'll call the company PRO) that is currently a customer of the company I work for now(We'll call this one CON). We are a 3rd party Distribution Center for PRO and they want to open there own DC. Both my current employer, CON, and the company looking to hire me(PRO) are based out of Ohio. They have a business contract stating that PRO cannot offer any current or former employee of CON employment. I was told by a friend that in California, that not valid. Is that clause in this contract valid, possibley because both parties signed and agreed to the contract? Is there any way to get around it. Any feedback would be appreciated
