Default paid an attorney for a consultation on a case and he is hired by opposing party

if i have paid an attorny for a consaltation on a case and he is hired by opossing party for court is this legal

No--the Bar rules normally do not allow that.

Consult your state Bar and if need be file a complaint, and/or ask the lawyer why that is not a violation.
