Default Mistreatment by police. please respond

Hi, i am a second year college student and have always had respect for all police until this weekend. Two nights ago after a few drinks, my girlfriend and I were walking to a pizza place to meet our friends and get a cab home. I live in a "bar town" and the street are always swarming with college students when the bars close. We were walking down the sidewalk when about 5 feet infront of us a fight breaks out. I didn't think about it and just grabbed one of the people from behind and pulled him back for a few seconds. Then, a cop grabbed me by my shirt, tore it as he threw me on the ground and cuffed me. I asked him what he was doing and he said arresting me because i was fighting. I told him that all i was doing was getting the one guy off of someone else, but he didn't believe me. He put me in the back of the car and drove to the station. While we were going i asked him repeatedly if he could please loosten the cuffs because they were on really tight (which later gave me a bruise) and he didn't even acknowledge that i was speaking. (By the way, during this whole process, i was being extremely polite and cooperative). When we got there they made me empty all of my pockets and take of any jewelery i had on. I asked them nicely if i could keep in one of my piercings since it was new and it would close in if i took it out for any longer than a few hours, but they said no. I then asked them if i could please call my friends to let them know that i was okay and they said no. Once i was in the cell i asked them what time it was and what time i could leave, but they told me that they were "too busy" to tell me. About an hour later another guy came in and fell asleep. He then woke up, urinated on the floor and passed out in it and it smelled VERY bad. Me and another person in there flarred our arms infront of the cameras to get the cops attention to let them know what had happened. About 5 minutes later a cop came out asking what we wanted. We told him what had happened and asked him if we could either be moved to a different cell (there were many empty ones) or if someone could clean it up. He literally just laughed at us and told us that it's our fault that we were in there anyway. In the morning at 7:00 AM they let me out and gave me a ticket for being drunk in public. It is good to note that i had only had maybe 4 or 5 drinks in a span of 4 or 5 hours. Is there anything i can do about what happened? I feel like i treated them with the most respect i could ever give to someone, and in turn they just treated me like garbage. I live in Ontario, Canada.
