Default Former lawmaker Steve Brown disbarred
The Missouri Supreme Court has revoked the law license of a former lawmaker who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to obstruct justice.

The court on Monday disbarred Steve Brown for actions that it said reflected poorly "on his honesty, trustworthiness and fitness as a lawyer."

The former Democratic lawmaker from St. Louis County had volunteered to surrender his law license after he pleaded guilty and resigned from office in August.

He admitted to a plot to mislead federal investigators looking into finance violations by Jeff Smith's the 2004 congressional campaign. Smith also pleaded guilty to obstruction and resigned from his state Senate seat.
