The highest paid attorneys are generally plaintiff's lawyers who handle class action or serious personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, medical malpractice lawsuits. Next in line would be attorneys who handle major corporate law and/or in-house counsel for multi-billion dollar companies, etc. Patent law, commercial real estate, entertainment law and high profile criminal law would most likely follow. These categories overlap depending on the particular cases the attorney may handle.
