Question about legal ethics in small town
My father-in-law was arrested almost a year ago and still has not had a trial the date has been shifted several times. The warrant presented was from 2002. The DA has been desperately trying to get him to accept a plea. He admitted that there was not enough evidence for theft charge but due to involvement of big bank in small town he is trying to get him to take blame and be released with time served. He is 60 years old and never even been in trouble before. The DA is now threatening to put him away for the rest of his life if he does not accept new plea.
