Confused Judge's "final answer"

Without going into great detail, I'd gone through a grueling process of
having my son arrested in hopes of having him ordered to a residential
treatment center as recommended by his psychiatrist which was requested
by the same judge who ultimately told my son that these treatment
centers are very costly to the state, he felt he was going to be a repeat
offender (charged with 1st time misdemeanor pot posession), and
felt that my son "did not deserve it" and had him sent to the DOC for
what is now going on 5 months (7 weeks of which was on suicide watch) -
Would you say that it is ethical for any judge to tell any child that he/she
is not deserving of help?

Default Re: Judge's "final answer"

No--but it is not illegal for him to say such a thing unfortunately; you could and perhaps should file a judicial complaint...
