Question lawyer privilege

i live in toronto canada

i made a false statement against someone and they were charged. I am trying to get the charges dropped because i realize i was wrong an want to correct my stupididty.
in my quest to seek out the best way to resolve this, i came across a lawyer who said she can help me. she said that she could go to the crown attorney on my behalf and tell them that if i have to go to trial an testify i will be telling the truth and that the truth is not what i told the police. she said that the crown would have to drop the case because she would tell them that there is no reasonable prospect of conviction but at the same time they can not touch me in terms of charges for lying to the police (mischief) . she said that because she is the one talking to them they cannot use her against me because she is my lawyer so they cannot touch me. she used an example that if i admit to my lawyer killing someone even if the lawyer tells the crown i admitted to them, the crown cannot charge me because of lawyer client privilege. however if i were to go admit it myself it would be incriminating.

is what she is saying accurate? and is this really ann effective way to get these false charges dropped and not risk myself getting in trouble? i have taked to so many lawyers and they all say different oppinions on the same matter so i am so confused an jus trying to find a way to correct my wr ongdoing. please tell me if this lawyer is realistic?

Default Re: lawyer privilege

They normally can still independently investigate and charge you if they wish.
