Confused can i file a civil law suit for attempted murder

can i file a civil suit for attempted murder against somebody even after they have been charged with agg assult w/deadly weapon and agg battery w/deadly weapon with intent to cause severe bodily harm, to get payment for injuries recieved and bills due?

You certainly can...it is often done--just like in the OJ Simpson case eg
