Hi!
I went to Court years ago when my daughter was 5 to get her father's responsibilities to her sorted. At Court we reached an agreement that he would pay the money for her. The money started to come through and continued every month until my daughter reached 18 years of old. I did not speak to my attorney again for several years. When my daughter was 18, she wanted to go on to college and it was very expensive. So I contacted my attorney about getting the Order changed so that I could receive money until my daughter finished her education. My attorney told me to speak to her daddy and get a voluntary arrangement because the Judge wouldn't give me money now that she was 18. So I spoke to her daddy for the first time in 13 years and asked him for money - he agreed and at first everything seemed fine but within a few weeks of been in contact with him again. It began obvious that there was some huge problem -something was not right. So I got the Court papers - there were two applications, one for parental responsibilities and one for money - well I got the money but the application for parental responsibilities has nothing done with it. Where do I start to sort this out? |
