Lawer wrongfully charging me?

I have hired a lawyer to get child support from my ex.
She was trying to have my ex served papers by a constable. The constable office said they could not serve him because he did not live at the address given. Come to find out, the person at the constables office who had written down the apartment number put the wrong one. My lawyer has now sent me a bill that is charging me for her time of follow ups with the constables and changing the court date. I am also being charged for all the times the constables tried to serve him. I gave the correct address from the beginning so why am I being charged for all this time of trying to serve him? Can my lawyer legally do that? She is also charging me for phone calls that she made to tell me he hadn't been served when I had him served the previous weekend and her assistant knew that. One phone call even consisted of her saying that her assistant didn't inform her and I am being charged for that phone call.

She should reduce that.

And she she should not be authorizing any funds for the failed attempt if the address was wrong. Either the lawyer or the constable has to eat that cost.

This lawyer sounds a bit heavy on billing...

Have you tried the child support enforcement office?

You could also just proceed without the lawyer if need be...
