Confused Trust Accounts and statute of limitations

I am a Florida realtor in dispute with my former broker over an outstanding real estate commission. This money has supposedly been put into an IOTA trust account pending resolution. Despite all representations over the past 3 years I have been unable to establish proof of this. My former broker is represented by his brother in law hence my concerns. In February 2006 I consulted a reputable attorney firm to represent me in this matter. I believed that the matter was progressing slowly but in October 2007 whilst trying to contact my attorney I found out that my former broker had successfully applied for a dismissal for want of prosecution . I applied for an amendment order of dismissal which was granted without prejudice. I am informed that a new complaint has been lodged with the court in the past 2 days. You may ask why this has taken so long. I travel the world extensively and after my original complaint was filed I believed it would take time. What I did not know was that my case has been handled by 3 different attorneys at the firm all of whom have left and I only found out each time when I attempted to get an update on my case. My questions are 1. what rights do I have to demand proof of the safety of my money. 2. What are the statute of limitations on this case. 3. If my case fails due to the incompetence of my attorneys what legal redress do I have. I realise a complaint to the Florida Bar will not compensate me financially. At all times I informed my attorneys of telephone, fax, email contact numbers. Ernie Talbot

How much money is at issue? Can you use small claims?

I have recovered 3 commissions amounting to almost $10000 but the outstanding amount is in excess of $30000, too much for the small claims court.
