easy question, but i dont know the answer to!! please help!!

can some one be charged just cause someone is mentioning your name to police? for ex.. if someone sells an illegal item to someone, lets say drugs, and he gets caught, and he says john doe gave it to him.. can john doe be charged? keep in mind, that is the only evidence they have his word.. what do you think?

Yes! Most defiantly john doe will be charged even if that is the only evidence they have, the cops are not stupid. They will lock john doe up until they have more evidence.

Did John Doe get arrested? I'm assuming he did, but could be he's just afraid he will. If he hasnt .... then hey, he might get lucky and have a police department like the one we have here where i live. They just dont care here, but then again we've all heard how theres far too many police officers that are doin drugs too, especially in small towns where their all as dirty as the next one is. Personally i look at it like this ... What comes around goes around, they'll get theirs in the end, i just hope i'm around to hear that their kids were bought beer by an adult when the kids still underage or that their kids ended up doin drugs and even more so i hope the kids get the drugs from the same person i've already told the police here about. Yet they did nothin, so more power to em. lol Don't get me wrong im not bein vengeful, its just a fact of a life. I'm not religious, believe it or not, but i do know when someone does u wrong in what ever way, it comes back on them sooner or later, especially when u know u did what was right. Don't believe me? Just sit back and pay attention to what goes on around u, u'll see that when ur done wrong u dont have to do anything to get back at the person or persons that did u wrong, god takes care of em on his own, especially when u do nothing to see that anything happens.

That sucks! But it is true! Basically, with a case like that it does come down to his word against yours. The fact that most people will become afraid and plea out before a jury trial is put together is what the state is counting on!
Happens alot! If your friend has been arrested, play it through. The state will drop the charges with no evidence at the very last second before a jury is to be put together. It is nerve wrecking but worth the wait!
One other thing, whenever questioned by an officer, especially if being arrested, you only have to produce your Identification and in a respectful manner state: "I'm sorry officer, I may not answer any of your questions without an attorney present". At that point, by law, all question must be stopped and do not volunteer any information at all. Just close your trap, as much as you or your friend may wish to tell their side of the story, it is best not to say anything at all then to make it easier for the cops to arrest or get you convicted later on. It's all contextual. It depends on who you are, where you are from, and who you know.

Can you be more specific? What class of drugs are we talking about?
