Searched and completely humiliated out in public and had done nothing wrong

A few weeks ago a friend was eating Dinner with his friend and his friends two daughters. Apx. 15 minutes after being seated at the rest. a police car pulled up and two officers come inside and told my friend and his friend to come outside. Once outside they were patted down and asked what their business was with the two girls inside. They were told that they were the one mans daughters. The officers asked if they were sure about that. The female officer went inside to question the girls and the male officer with a terrible attitude continued to chastise both of the men. Finally the two officers let them go. They were far to imbarrased to go back inside and eat. It had to have been a customer or employee in the rest. who called to begin with. Upon their leaving the rest. they were followed for apx. 15-20 miles by the police. How can this be legal. They were pulled out of a full rest. ,Searched and completely humiliated out in public and had done nothing wrong.Could someone please advise as to what can be done about this?

You may want to first file a complaint with the chief of the dept (or have WLD do so if you wish) . The heads of the dept's are required to investigate these kinds of problems and normally will do so--file directly with him or her and do so in writing...if that does not work, let WLD know.
