Denied a Public Defender!

I was sleeping in my car a few weeks ago when I woke up to Sherriff's deputies banging on my window. They proceeded to search my car, found my marijuana, and gave me a ticket for a misdemeanor. I went to the arraignment on friday, and the judge wouldn't assign me a public defender!! I make very little money, don't have a house, and can't afford a lawyer. I feel that I need one because the judge told me to go turn myself in to the county jail so they can book me. What are my options? How do I get a PD?

You could go meet with them separately and explain you have no funds; take all income statements and tax returns to show them.
