I have a friend who was the treasurer of our college organization. Money was stolen from her before she was able to make a deposit. She was relieved of her duty as treasure and informed she was to pay back the money stolen. She did not steal the money but now is has been arrested and is out on a 2500 dollar bond. She has to appear in court in 6-8 weeks and if they find her guilty she will have to spend a year in jail. She is not guilty but how do we go about proving that? Why was she arrested if there was already an agreement for her to pay back the money since she had been the treasurer at the time of the theft? Please help as soon as possible. Thanks

They must think she took it. And that is a crime. But they still have to prove it.
