Last night i had a few friends over to my house and we ended up staying up quite late and were all a bit drunk (we're all over 21). Anyways we ended up in the hot tub around 4:30 in the morning. We were talking but were not being very loud (there was only four of us). But apparently we were bugging a neighbor as they called the cops on us. As we were heading to bed i got a knock on the door from the police. I expected him just to tell us to keep it down as i was wearing pajamas and had told him we were heading to bed but that wasnt the case. He told me he wanted everyone to come outside and when i asked him why, he got mad and told the other officer he was going inside. They both just entered the house without permission or any reason to do so. I followed them in and they went right to my living room where my guests were getting ready to sleep and began questioning them. They looked around throughout my house and asked me about my record, probation etc. They ran my name through the system and basically were just being as rude as possible and trying to find any reason they possibly could to get me in trouble (When one officer asked my name, I told him the name I go by instead of my birth name, when I realized he was checking out my information I told him my birth name and he accused me of giving him false information). They asked if I was the landlord which I am not and they asked who was. He was asleep in his room so the cop went to his room (with his taser in hand) and banged on the door to wake him up and inform him that we were using the hot tub. He was of course confused and covered his head with his covers so he could fall back to sleep. The cops threatened to arrest us if they ever had to come back and basically were just trying to intimidate. When it was apparent that they had nothing on us they left. I was just wondering if there is anything I can do about this of if I should just let it go. Im pretty mad that they just came right into my house without permission and without any probable cause (at least none that I can think of) and then basically harassed me, my friends and my room mate who was asleep for no good reason. I'm pretty sure them coming in the house like that was not legal but I don't know if there's really anything I can do about it or if it's just better left alone.
