stopped in wall-mart
My Child was stopped in wall-mart and was found to have a CD, of Wal-Marts, in his pocket. He never made it outside the store. So now Wal-marts Lawyer wants $100 for violating Wal-Marts civil rights. Was my son stealing according to law since he never made it out of the store? BTW they are threatning to take us to court and getting $1000 if we don\'t pay.

Actually hes lucky they could have charged him with theft a criminal offense. What they are asking fo ris legalits called Civil Demand. Pay this or things can get worst and ugly they could even follow through with criminal charges. Leaving the store is not always required as many states say "concealment" alone is a crime. Try going to forum site below. This site is just for issues like your sons and you can get experts to answer your questions and explain whats going on
