Default Coercive arrest

A friend of mine was recently arrested, charges pending for drug distribution. My friend was at home, getting ready for dinner when 5 uniformed police knocked at the door and wanted to talk. There was no warrant, and the police implied they would be kicking the door in if they were not allowed inside of the apartment. I think it is important to note that there had been no prior warnings of noise or traffic given to my friend in all of her life in any apartment, and that she has a clean record. My friend had said no, but allowed them to enter based on that threat. They said they had info that she had been selling drugs, but according to her, seemed unaware of the truth and nature of her dealings, including who she was. They called her by the name listed on the doorbell downstairs which was her co-signer to the apartment. They threatened her and she continued to hold her ground of no search. After approximately 25 minutes, the officers were leaving and said they come back with a warrant. They then allegedly noticed some assumed residue on the desk and told her she would have to consent to search or her house would be torn apart and she'd be jailed. They made it very clear that if she were to cooperate, consent and give info about her connections that they would not arrest her. She gave consent, they allegedly found drugs in the house, and she was given another promise of no arrest and probation when she was done giving up her sources. They said if not, her bond would be 50,000 dollars and she was to report to a detective in the morning to work for police. She was given a miranda and told to write a statement that left the part about cooperating out. The following day she had spoken with her lawyer and he made a call to the detective she was to report to and he asked her to come in where they arrested her, charges pending. What is going on here and more importantly, what right, if any did the police have to do this to her? She may have incriminated herself in the hope of not going to jail and note, they never gathered the alleged residue on the desk.
