Confused can they charge me with stealing something if its just hear say

well my cousin and I have been verbelly aruging with each other and she is a drug addict so she has been stealing alot of stuff but she is now trying to pin it on me she has been telling everyone I was the one stealing stuff and I cant proof it or disproof it wasnt me but she cant either so if these people go and try and say I stole the stuff can they charge on just on hear say
