Default coersed to confession?

Is it legal to read somone's right while the person is not in condition to understand what's being said?
Also can the officer threath the person and coerse him (her) to say what he wants to hear by reassuring him that if he doesn't he (she) will be in bigger trouble if not?
Isn't true that interrogation tactics long taught in criminal justice academies can sometimes put even the most stable innocent person at risk of confessing?

Default Re: coersed to confession?

It can get close to the line but the defendant has to say no, or it is usually hard to invalidate the officer's actions.
