Question Daughter decided she does not want to be a parent (Hawaii)

My daughter had baby month ago.. has decided she does not want to be a parent.. is it legal in Hawaii as some other states to simply sign over temp custody, etc in front of notary republic for me (grandmother) to be able to legally take to doctor, enter into school later, etc.?
If this is not legal in this state, what is? She wants to "move on", and wants this be quick and easy.
Thanks for the time

I wish to inform you that your daughter may appoint you as a Temporary Power of Attorney. She will need to get the document notarized. To give you Temporary Power of Attorney, your daughter must have sole custody of the child, otherwise, the father will also need to sign the document. At the time of signing of the document, she will also need an identity document. The Temporary Power of Attorney will be valid for one year. You will be authorized to undertake decisions on medical care, schooling of the child, etc. For Temporary Guardianship you will need to go to the Family Court in your capacity as a caretaker. You may approach the Legal Aid Society for guidance.

in order to give you custody she needs the father's consent too.

Your daughter can arrange for guardianship (not power of attorney) over her daughter. Power of attorney is granted to one who has legal power over their own affairs which a minor does not have and guardianship is clear as to the role the person is to play.

What your daughter can do to be sure the document is comprehensive, spells out the powers and duties her mother would have as guardian, and that the document complies with the laws of the state of Hawaii is have the guardianship agreement drawn by a family law attorney in Hawaii.

She does not have to go to court nor institute court proceedings to appoint her mother guardian. As to the father, he would have to object.

Unwed mother, newborn father. Guess, Lexus. He would have to go to court, prove paternity and then show that he is able to take care of the newborn.

Odds: 1/1,000.
