reverse unwanted adoption- by adoptee

I am a 24 year old that would like my biological mothers name back on my birth certificate.
The woman that adopted me was my step mother. She forced my mother to sign the adoption papers because my mom was not able to pay child support. The woman that adopted me was extremely abusive and i have not been in contact with her for years.
I was very young when i signed that i was okay with the adoption and in reality i did not want to. I was to scared to say no because i wasnt sure what my punishment would be.
She was able to get full custody of my sisters and i once her and my father got divorced. Even after i told the judge what horrible things she did to me. The reason being was that she went to church. It is really starting to worry me that she will be on my birth certificate for the rest of my life. Who knows what she will do.
She has this power of me that i want taken away from her.
My real mom is amazing and he deserves to be noticed on my birth certificate.
Please help.

Courts do allow adults to sever such legal ties in some situation. Best to have a family law attorney help guide you through the maze however. Costs should not be too much.
