Default reverse adoption

Illinois: Can we reverse this adoption?? My daughter died and we allowed her husband to adopt my two granddaughters. Now he has found someone and is moving out of our house and taking my granddaughters....He is not their biological father...Can we reverse this??????

No. Why would you do such a thing? If he's the only father they've ever known why would you want to interfere with that?

You can't change the rules because someone is getting on with their life and it doesn't sit well with you emotionally.

No, as grandparents you cannot reverse the adoption. The only people who can do that are the natural parents, the adoptive parents, or the adoptee.

no you cannot. you have no standing where these kids are concerned. legally, you are no longer their grandparent

no you cannot, since you were not parties to the adoption to begin with. he is their legal father now, and if you want to maintain contact with your granddaughters, make nice with dad
