Illinois , My adopted daughter will turn eighteen in a few days and I have heard through family members that her biological father intends to contact her immediately . My daughter is going through a rough time right now and I would like to delay this until her mental state is more upbeat . I honestly dont have a problem with her knowing the truth and just see it hurting her too much now . Any answers on preventing this from happening ? Obviously she doesnt know that I am not her biological father and you are correct in assuming that her biological father is not up for the Man Of The Year award .

You cannot really stop it legally unless there were a court order and that is not likely.
You could ask the bio dad to give a bit more time or to choose a better time, but frankly that is about it. |
