Age eligible to be a legal guardian?

Default Age eligible to be a legal guardian?
I am 18 years old and i have a sister who is 15. We both have different fathers. My mom passed away a few months ago and now she lives with her father and I live with my aunt (dad's sister). When, if possible, would I be able to to have guardianship or adoption of my younger sister? We live in AL if that helps.

You can try after age 18 or 21 but courts are sometimes cautious about guardians of young adult ages.

your sister already has a legal guardian-her father. and thats where she stays untill shes 18. period.
