Default SS Benefits and Disruption

We have a question that no one has been able to answer for us. My husband
is 70 years old and started collecting his social security at age 65. Five
years ago we had adopted an older foreign school age child, but had not yet
re-adopted the child in the US before circumstances with him dictated a
disruption of the adoption. The child had automatically been added to my
husband's social security prior to the disruption, and has remained on his
SS account to this day- even though our parental rights were terminated in a
court of law; and he subsequently was immediately adopted by another family who's father collects social security. Is there any
way to have the child put on his present father's SS account since he is no
longer our legal responsibility as dictated by a court of law; and hasn't been for five years?? Every check and correspondance the adoptive family receives from SS, has my husband's social security number on it; and the family has even committed fraud to try to get more money out of us. Thank you so much.
No one has ever heard of a case like ours.

Yes if the SS office will not do it after seeing the court order terminating your relationship, then take it to a local jude and have a judge rule.

If need be contact World Law and they will likely be able to assist you.

You're right; SS basically looked at the court docs and said "So what?!" We will try it- can a local Judge make a ruling over a federal entity though??
