My husband and I are looking into adopting my cousin's 5 yr old son. They are on the verge of having him removed by the court. I want to know if we need to have all the home study and physicals done or if they can just sign him over to us? We live in WI and they are in MI so I think that might complicate things as well. I could really use some insight if anyone has some advice.

Check with your state agencies but normally you do need all thr home studies etc.
but you can take custody and guardianship over him in the meantime. Why are they giving him up? |
