Hi. My son and I just recently found out he has a son. My son, who was 16 at the time fathered the child, and the child was put up for adoption. The baby is 1 1/2 years old now. My son lost contact with the bio mom before birth and she told everyone in town the baby died at birth. My son did not sign any consent for adoption and he would like to raise his son. Is there any way to get the adoption reversed? I know everyone will say to leave him alone, but he wants and needs contact with his son. We are in PA and have lived at the same address for 10 years. The adoptive parents live in NY. Does he have any legal grounds for trying to get his son and have the adoption reversed?

I don't think he would as most states have a time limit to contest that sort of thing. For example, a notice was probably placed in a newspaper (that is how it is done here) to any possible father to object to the adoption. He would have had to object within a certain time limit. He didn't object, the fatherly rights were terminated, and the adoption went through. It's final by now more than likely. I don't want to sound cold, but even if it hasn't been taken care of yet, that child has only known one family for 1 1/2 years. It would be devastating to a lot of people (child and the family adopting him) to start this up. It's unfortunate that it happened this way and I'm sorry for the loss that your family experienced. However, more than likely, it's too late.
