Legal guardianship of out of country family member

I live in Canada and have an Uncle and Aunt that live in the states that would like for me to take their 10 yr old son into my home and take care of him. In other words, take legal guardianship of my cousin. He would be attending school here and receive medical and other needs, how do I make this happen?

They can fill our guardianship papers. It would be a good idea to have counsel assist briefly.

There may be other issues as to immigration etc

hello,

my question is similar, I am American Citizen in Canada on PR. My 16 year old decided to go back to Virginia to go to school. He is staying with my cousin. Can i just go to the courthouse here in Ontario and sign an affidavit to give her guardianship so she can enroll him in school and seek medical care in my absence? Without going to court? Can i do this without a lawyer?

Any advise would help a great deal. Thank you
